Your information,
handled plainly.

The short version

We collect the information needed to reply to enquiries and understand how this website is used. We do not sell personal information.

How we handle information

Who we are

Maal Studio is an independent creative studio based in Melbourne, Australia. For privacy questions, access requests, corrections, or complaints, email hello@maal.au.

What we collect

When you use our project enquiry form, we collect the name, organisation, project information, budget range, timing, and email address you choose to provide. If you contact us another way, we collect the information contained in that correspondence.

Google Analytics may collect information about use of the site, including session activity, approximate location, browser, device information, and a pseudonymous client identifier stored in the _ga cookie.

Why we collect it

We use enquiry information to understand your request, reply to you, prepare or discuss work, and keep a record of the conversation. We use analytics information to understand whether the site works, which pages are useful, and how people find us.

Who processes it

Project enquiries are processed by Web3Forms and forwarded to our email account. Web3Forms says submissions are not stored as form records, although its server logs may contain personally identifiable information for up to two months. Its servers are in the United States.

Website analytics are processed by Google Analytics. Google may process information outside Australia under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not send form contents, names, or email addresses to Google Analytics.

Storage and security

Enquiries are held in the email and working systems we use to respond and deliver services. We take reasonable steps to protect that information and limit access to people and providers who need it. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Retention

We keep enquiry and client correspondence for as long as it is reasonably useful for the relationship, our records, or legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it where practical. Analytics retention is controlled in the Google Analytics property.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete information we no longer need. You can also block or delete analytics cookies through your browser. Some requests may be limited where retaining information is required by law or reasonably necessary for our records.

Complaints

Email hello@maal.au with the subject “Privacy”. We will acknowledge the complaint and respond after reviewing what happened. If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act 1988 applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We will update this page when our information-handling practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
